Lead Developer Empowerment & Innovation

• Lead efforts to remove friction from the developer journey by championing tools, infrastructure, and workflows that boost team productivity and satisfaction.
• Drive innovation across build systems, CI/CD, device labs, and toolchains—guiding teams in applying emerging tech like AI to scale impact.

Build & Empower High-Performing Teams

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of experts—fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Partner across engineering, QA, and platform teams to align priorities and deliver outcomes that move the needle.

Set Strategy & Technical Direction

• Define and lead execution of the Developer Experience strategy in close alignment with engineering and product leadership.
• Provide direction and oversight to specialized teams, ensuring their work supports broader technical and business goals.

Own Platform & Infrastructure Leadership

• Guide the development of scalable, cross-platform infrastructure and tooling—ensuring high performance, maintainability, and automation.
• Champion internal tooling as a product, leading teams to prioritize developer needs and deliver measurable improvements.

Drive Operational Excellence

• Lead initiatives to ensure the reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency of all DevEx services.
• Use data, feedback, and strategic foresight to evolve the DevEx function in step with organizational growth.

To be successful in this role, we believe you have:

🧭 Engineering Leadership – Proven experience leading technical teams across build systems, DevOps, infrastructure, or automation. Including experience managing senior specialists and guiding cross-functional initiatives.

🔧 Technical Depth – Deep understanding of software development lifecycles (especially C/C++ and Java/Kotlin, Rust), compiler toolchains, CI/CD systems (GitLab preferred), and infrastructure (Kubernetes, macOS hosts, physical device labs).

🧠 Strategic Thinking – Demonstrated ability to define and execute on complex roadmaps that support scalability, developer velocity, and alignment with engineering goals.

📈 DevEx Expertise – A strong product mindset applied to internal tooling and platforms. Experienced in measuring developer satisfaction and reducing friction through automation and system improvements.

🌍 Platform Agility – Experience supporting multi-platform environments, including Android, iOS/macOS, ChromeOS, Linux, and Windows. Knowledge of device management and distributed testing systems.

🤝 Collaborative Mindset – Strong communication skills and a proven track record of working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to align goals and deliver results.

⚙️ Compiler & Toolchain Oversight – Ability to manage and strategize with compiler experts; familiarity with Clang/LLVM is a plus.

🧪 Test Infrastructure Mastery – Experience in automated test systems for mobile platforms (e.g., Espresso, XCUITest), as well as managing physical device infrastructure for large-scale testing.
